Natural and anthropogenic dispersion of an oyster resulted in the widespread distribution of one of its parasite
Kristina Hill-Spanick, former Aquatic Health student, publishes part of her master thesis in the journal Marine Ecology Progress Series. The study entitled 'Phylogeographic perspective on the distribution and dispersal of a marine pathogen, oyster parasite Bonamia exitiosa' provides important data supporting the hypothesis that natural and anthropogenic dispersal of a particular oyster species likely also resulted in a widespread distribution of one of its parasites.
